home is

sun

            dust

                         wind

                                      sun

                                                  dust

                                                             wind

and the sky stretched over the earth

home is the sun

falling for the ocean

over and over again

and walking on the shore

long into the night

whispering to the sea

           home is

sleeping with open windows

to the sound of palm trees

in a sun bleached house

corroding from the ocean air

  an island in my memories

Animation Showreel

If I had to describe my works in one word it would be bittersweet. Someone once told me that I was drawing goodbyes, and the pain that comes from that is something really close to me- since I’ve had to move far away from my home in pursuit of my craft. Goodbyes are universal and I think that everyone struggles with letting go and moving on.

I use animation to explore these themes of solitude and the passing of time. I see animation as a layer removed from reality – this is its unique strength that can allow it to enhance or offer a different perspective when telling a story. Storytelling is really important to me; what is being said is just as essential as how it is said. I like to make my stories lighthearted by adding humor or silliness. I do this with my visuals, which are playful, abstract and convey a certain energy. Imperfections and coincidences are something that I value in my work.

There’s a lot of wonder in the world if you look close enough, let’s try to find it together!
